Julie Peppito
In Julie Peppito’s work the artist transforms trinkets and trash along with her skilled drawing style and sewing techniques into stylized collage like works and installations. By bundling, layering and stitching together the waste around her, she confronts the mass of consumer goods overflowing the Earth.

Julie Peppito is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and is living and working in New York City. She obtained her MFA at Alfred University in New York, on a full tuition scholarship in 2004, and completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the Cooper Union School of Art, New York City in 1992. Peppito received the Andy Warhol Foundation Grant, Living Arts, Tulsa Oklahoma (2004) and a New York Foundation of the Arts Fellowship (NYFA) for sculpture (2001).
